2015 SW MO Hot Rod Hundred Coverage Pt. 1 Brought To You By Crown Custom

Saturday, April 4th marked the 2nd annual Southwest Missouri Hot Rod Hundred. We gathered up in the parking lot of the Springfield Catholic High School Saturday morning. Approximately 100 cars were there to take part in the 100 mile run. Part 1 of the coverage is the starting gathering of the run and the cars leaving the school’s parking lot. The maps of the run in  hand we headed out at 9am to drive some great roads. I was able to leapfrog the group a couple of times to get ahead of the group and get some shots of the cars rolling by.

Corey Conyers of Crown Custom is the man responsible for the build of this beautiful dragster. He is too busy fabricating kool stuff to have time to build a website so instead if you click on the photo it will take you to the Shop Visit I did at his place. His contact info is on that page. ANYTHING you need fabbed or metal shaped, this man can do. Click the image above to get his contact info!

The scene as I saw it when I showed up.

Duke made it over from Dewey, OK to run with us.
Sam brought out his slick wagon for the Hundred.

Jr’s pickup is a no nonsense bad bad ride.
My buddy and fellow photographer Cory McMahon.

An interesting ride. I didn’t get the story on it, I figured it was an Aussie Ute but it’s left hand drive and has a 5 window cab look to the back of the cab so it could be home built. Anyone have the skinny on this ride?

Stance.

It was still chilly for the first 1/2 of the event, the two guys in this lil rod were TROOPERS to rock the RPU for the Hundred

A cool Chevy kustom.

Gotta love a Cameo, unless you have to pay for the special parts at the back end of one… oooof those taillights are pricey!

Jimmy was too busy playing games on his phone to come talk with the rest of us…

Dan & Sharyl Stears brought out their road warrior Ford for the run. This car has been nearly everywhere that I’ve been in the last few years and it’s always a pleasure to hang out with them.

As I heard the details I believe this to be the original paint, an unrestored car that looks as good as new. Maybe a little better since it’s lowered 🙂
Thanks to the CrossMembers car club for putting on the event!
Bret giving us the rundown of the day before we head out.

Then before I knew it, it was time to head out!

More to come tomorrow! For more info on the Hot Rod Hundred, go to the official website here. There are other Hundreds going on that may be in your area, you should go check them out!
