If you’ve been following along all week you’d have a pretty good idea of what I think of the Stray Kat 500, it’s one of the best shows that I hit each year. It was great to see so many new folks come to the show this year. All week I’ve seen social media posts from some of these folks extolling the virtues of the show, our little “secret” is getting out! The midwest has a ton of great cars and a whole bunch of them show up in Dewey for the 500! Enjoy the photos, more to come tomorrow and Saturday!

Since I missed the Reliability Run for this year’s Stray Kat 500 and was late getting to the free feed it felt like a different show to me. I’m glad I was able to get into the flow with all of my Stray Kat Kustoms family and the show felt like home. That’s one of the things about this event that is always the best for me, it’s home. Sure there are 600 or so cars, most of them pretty dang cool, sure there are bands, pinstripers and pinup girls but what’s most important is the Stray Kat Kustoms Family.

The Stray Kat 500 is almost old enough to drive, 15 years folks have been gathering in Dewey, OK and every year it seems more and more show up. Some fear losing the intimacy of the show, but so far it’s been a great example of scaling a show up without losing the magic of the event. This year there were some new additions, the bands that used to be outside in the park have been inside for a couple of years, as well as the Miss Kitty Pinup contest and the Inspiration awards, but more on those in later posts. I missed most of Friday at the show this year.

Since 2010 I’ve been attending the Stray Kat 500 in Dewey, OK and loving it. Most of of the great people in my life are in my life due to this show and the people that I’ve met through it. Mickey Bryan and crew put on two of my favorite events each year between the 500 and the Stray Kat Kustoms Starliner in Wichita, KS. There are nearly 400 photos in total coming your way, enjoy them!
