For exactly 1 year I’ve been regretting missing the 2013 Hot Rod Hill Climb. I made the choice to not make the 15 hour round trip and from the moment that photos started being posted online, I was full of regret. 2014 was my chance to make good and get myself there. I had no idea what I was in for.

After a stop at a friend’s shop (shop visit post coming later this week) I finally made it up to Georgetown, CO and got checked into my hotel. Georgetown isn’t very big and I had family that lived there a couple of decades ago so I knew how to make my way to the historic downtown area. These images are from Friday night as the sun set and later into the evening.
All of these photos are available for purchase as prints. Click the photo to go to the gallery and you can order any of these prints up to poster sized.
This is the recreation of one of the cars from the Hot Rod Hill Climb when it first went down 60 years ago.
Hot Rodding perfection.
Some times when you’re doing long exposure shots, a car drives through the shot…
“Hell’s Messenger” I love this shot.
Keep an eye out for this car in more coverage. Those OHV conversion heads are super rare, only 3 sets were ever made.
I love this shot.
This is another that I love. I may have to put it on my wall.
The coming car lit the grill nicely and provided the streaking light trails that you see on the left. I dig that.
