In 2012 a new show arrived on the scene. A weekend had been vacated by the Hunnert Car Pileup ending it’s run. The new show was put on by a friend so of course I had no problem driving 701 miles each way to check out a 1 day show. The weather was less than pleasant, but the turnout was fantastic. 2013 I didn’t make the show due to attending another event, so when the date for the show changed in 2014, I booked a room and made plans to attend the 2014 Iron Invasion.
The first stop when my Dad and I arrived in Woodstock was at the McHenry Fairgrounds to check on folks that were there for setup.
My Dad really dug this kustom. Gave me hope to get one in his collection some day.
After leaving the setup of the show I went down to the pre-party. It was raining and cold but some folk showed up. These following shots were basically done in the dark.
The next morning we went back to the show, it was cold, the rain was turning to snow, but it wasn’t sticking.
Bob brought this kustom out to show off. It’d been too long since we’d seen him, good to catch up!
Todd C. Jones showed up to sell some amazing art! Find him on FB here and buy some cool stuff!
Looooove these Thunderbirds.
Dragdaddy came up from OK to vend. Find him here and get yourself some!
More to come all week! Buy a print (click on the image for the shopping cart) if you like a photo!
