In 2012 I received a call from my friend and mentor Doug Reed asking if I’d like to be a part of a display at the 2013 Starbird-Devlin show in Wichita. He was assembling some cars to be a part of a Kustom City display showing off kustoms to the folks that attend the show. For decades Wichita had a rich heritage of kustoms and in recent years the kustoms weren’t exactly featured at the show.
So in 2013 and again in 2014 we gathered up a small group of kustoms to display together as the “Kustom City” display. Now it’s time to ask you to be a part of it too. For the 2015 Starbird Devlin show we want to increase the size of the display and show off traditional kustoms in a bigger way! If you have a traditional style kustom (for examples see this show coverage) we want you and your ride to come join us in Kustom City. So… If you have a traditional kustom and want to help spread the word of the kustom faith, send me a message here. I firmly believe that if we spread the kustom word we can get more folks to build kool rides. Putting 20-30 kustoms on display at this show would mean a lot to myself and my friend and mentor Doug. We can’t offer you free admission (the show is to raise money for charity) but if we get a big enough group we can have a great time :).
