From Salem, OR down to Penryn, CA is a pretty straight forward drive. It rained on me most of the way down to the Medford area where I stayed for the night. Just hop on the I-5 and haul butt south! The west was certainly beautiful and I wish I could have stayed longer and spent some time on the coast but that wasn’t in the cards.
My California car is this amazing roadster owned by Brian George. It was finished in 2016 and won Goodguys Rod & Custom Hot Rod Of The Year that year, no small feat. It has all the right touches to make me drool, ARDUN Flattie, Duvall windshield, Pines winter grill, E&J’s, quick change rear… need I say more?
The car is just stunning from any angle and impeccably cared for. I had a blast talking with Brian and shooting the car. From the great overall design to details such as the metal finished and perfectly painted floors, plus the hand built version of the Pines grill so that they didn’t have to cut up the original one to make it 2″ shorter the details on this car are amazing. More details about it in the book!
Somewhere in here I noticed that the car was running a little funny. I decided to get a room for the night and have a local shop check it out after I couldn’t figure out exactly what was wrong. More on that tomorrow…
