2018 Texas Thaw Coverage
While the car show area and the pits were both slower to fill than I am used to seeing at this event the car show area filled up and the pits filled in as the morning goes on. There were some drag VW’s that I had never seen before, some killer looking drag bikes including a twin engine job. Speaking of twin engines there was the twin flathead front engine dragster piloted by Heath Murray, which I didn’t get to see run because I was in line for lunch thinking that the lunch break in the racing had been called. So I got to see the top of the car over the safety barrier as it went by but it did sound good! Sorry Heath for missing it!
The Texas Thaw is always a great time and you should put it on your schedule for 2019. Not only is it fun, all of the proceeds go to help send care packages to deployed military members and that’s a damn good cause.
Please go support Unite for Troops and help send care packages to our deployed troops.
The coverage of the 2018 Texas Thaw is brought to you by the CrossMembers CC, the purveyors of the Hot Rod Hundred events. The HRH’s are 100ish mile fun runs that I’ve been lucky enough to take part in a few times. The next one is March 31st in the Springfield, MO area. Get more info at hotrodhundred.com
