Each year the weekend after Labor Day means only one thing for me, it’s time to head to Dewey, OK for the Stray Kat Kustoms : Lead Ain’t Dead show. Mickey and crew put on two of my favorite shows each year, the Stray Kat 500 which happens on the first full weekend each May and the Lead Ain’t Dead show.

While the show is small, it is powerful! This year it was made even more powerful as we interrupted the show mid morning to gather at a park about a block away so that we could honor the life of our friend, the legendary pin stripe artist and car guy, Ron Myers. Ron passed shortly before the show, we are all grateful to the family to have that memorial service that so many of us from out of town could attend. Ron’s favorite drink of choice was Pepsi so we all toasted his memory with a cold Pepsi.
We’ll miss you Ron, thanks for your art and for making us laugh for so many years.
If you’re a kustom guy or gal, I highly recommend that you attend the Custom Car Revival and the Lead Ain’t Dead shows!
