2025 Kustomville USA!

The Cotillion neon looked fantastic as we rolled in to the show.

Shortly after the 2024 Kustomville USA show, the Midwest Beatniks asked me if I’d be interested in leading a reliability run for the 2025 version of the show. They were taking it from an evening to a weekend long event.

Since we’d done a few reliability runs in the past, and had been on some in the Wichita area I had a handful of places in mind and set about calling everyone. Within a day I had 4 stops setup and a general idea of the route. In the next 10 months we’d lose two of the guys that were going to have stops at their house, Rocky Burris and Joe Robinson. Both great guys who would always open their shops up for people, whether it was to work on your car because you broke down on a road trip, or even for weddings and birthday parties.  We will miss them both.

The Beatniks asked if I could add a couple of stops at other locations so we sourced a couple more private shops/collections to check out and a commercial shop as well.

The weekend started for us on Wednesday as my first friend to hit town rolled in to our backyard. Shawn O’Brien had rolled in with some of the Beatniks from California in his 59 Chevy Wagon.

Instantly my yard was cooler.

Later on Thursday a bunch of my Lonely Knights brothers and sisters rolled in as well. Finally, shortly after dark Joey Wagner showed up in his T bucket. This was starting to become a lot of fun.

A pre-sunrise shot of the back yard full of cool cars.

Friday we got up and headed out on the Reliability Run, we started with about 60 cars and probably close to 100 people.  Here’s the video coverage of that day.

The day ended back at Artist At Large Tattoo, a shop owned by Beatnik Dennis McPhail. It was one heck of a pre-party!

Saturday we were up before dawn and headed to The Cotillion Ballroom, an early 60’s concert venue on the west side of Wichita. I’ve been attending concerts there for decades and it’s just one of the coolest venues around for style. Here’s the video of Saturday.

Mrs. Royboy grabbed the big camera and started shooting photos of the cars as they rolled in. She did a fantastic job with the photos and I can’t be more proud of her.

After the show we went to dinner with the club and went back to the house, everyone exhausted. I stayed up until 2am finishing the 2nd day video and getting it uploaded.

We hope you enjoyed our coverage of the Kustomville USA show and we can’t thank the Beatniks enough for putting on such an amazing weekend.
