Tis the season. It’s that time of year where every loved one of a car guy or gal is frustrated by the question, ‘What do I get them for Christmas?’ Typically us car folks kind of get ourselves what we want, and the things that we haven’t gotten yet are usually because they can be rather pricey. So I’ve put together a list of the Top 10 Car Guy Christmas Gifts list. When I say car guy I mean car guy or gal, and I’ll be looking over my own list to get a couple special car folks something great for Christmas.
Jonnie King’s George Barris Tribute Page
Good day folks! I took this weekend off, but I had a buddy cover the Hot Rod Holiday for me. As soon as he gets the photos delivered to me I’ll share them with all of you. In the mean time I hope you enjoy this George Barris Tribute Page from the great Jonnie King.
2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show Part 6
For the 3rd year in a row I ventured up to Denver for the Rocky Mountain Auto Show held on Thanksgiving weekend in the Denver Convention Center right in downtown Denver. Again the show was full of amazing vehicles of all types from the 2015 Ridler Award winning “Imposter” built by Chip Foose to exotics, traditional rods, kustoms, muscle cars, and everything else you could imagine.
2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show Part 5
In part 5 of the 2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show coverage we finally get to the Hot Rod Hill Climb section of the show. Plenty of awesomeness in this post, enjoy!

2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show Part 4
The 2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show was packed full of all kinds of great rides. Some of my favorite of the event are in this post. Check out the traditional rod with the flathead or the 1962 FED with the injected flattie! Tons of other great cars in there too.

2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show Part 2
The 2015 Rocky Mountain Auto Show ran from November 27th through the 29th. If you have your car in the show it’s a good excuse to spend the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Denver. Load in was on Wednesday, seeing the photos on social media had me excited for the trip. The forecasted 8″ of snow in Denver made me less than excited. We finished up Thanksgiving dinner and headed west. 7 or so hours later, a couple of them driving in near white out conditions, not being able to see any of the road surface was not fun but we got there.

2015 Hobo Happenings Pt. 3
The great small town vibe of the Hobo Happenings in Douglass, KS is because of the great people that attend the event. I keep going back because of that. I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos and I hope that you have a very Happy Thanksgiving. I’ll be back next week with more coverage of another event!
2015 Hobo Happenings Pt. 2
We showed up a little late to the 2015 Hobo Happenings, hoping to let the sun warm up the streets of Douglass. It didn’t work. Still close to 100 cars and their owners braved the chill to hang out and enjoy each other’s company for the last outdoor show of the year in this area.
2015 Hobo Happenings Pt. 1
For the last few years I’ve been attending a small town show not too far outside of Wichita called the Hobo Happening. Being that it’s the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Douglass, KS it’s been either 50 degrees or 35, this year was closer to the 35 and a stiff cold wind. Still with all of that they had a great turnout this year.
Scott Mills’ 1928 Model A Sedan : The Right Recipe
“No, that’s not for sale.” We’ve all heard it before, the car sitting in the field every time you drive by and when you talk to the owner they tell you it’s not for sale. That was the story when a buddy called Scott Mills and told him of a Model A sedan and a pickup in a yard a couple of cities away.

2015 Stray Kat Feed Part 3
Here’s the 3rd and final installment of the photos from the Stray Kat Feed. I hope you enjoyed them.
2015 Stray Kat Feed Part 2
I think it’s about 5 years now that I’ve been attending this little shindig. The Stray Kat Feed isn’t a car show or anything like that, just a hangout for a bunch of the Stray Kat Kustoms Family. The swap meet looked to be a huge success, I didn’t see anything that I knew I needed but I saw a few things I wanted. The back of TwoTall Okie’s shop was full of art, 1 shot was flying and cool stuff was being done.
2015 Stray Kat Feed Part 1
November 14, 2015 was a bit later than we normally got together for the Stray Kat Feed but it worked out pretty darn good. Adding to the hot dogs and chili and tons of great desserts that are on tap for the feed each year, this year TwoTall added a swap meet. Lots to do in the two blocks of Dewey, OK where the Feed is held. Enjoy the photos.
2015 Pistons & Paint Pt. 5
For the final installment of the 2015 Pistons & Paint coverage we have the biggest day of photos of the week. I wanted to stay for the day but I’d promised my friends in the band Paramount that I’d make it to their gig in Wichita that evening. So after checking out a few hundred great rides, talking with some good friends and hearing some awesome music I pointed the Galaxie north on I-35 and hauled butt up to Wichita. After delivering a couple of orders of calendars to folks that lived right off of the interstate I made it to the Cotillion just in time to catch the start of the show. I hope you all enjoyed the photos!

2015 Pistons & Paint Pt. 4
By noon of the 2015 Pistons & Paint show in Denton, TX the show had pretty much filled in. I’m a big fan of this show, the cars are pretty great, the folks of North Texas are awesome, the music is spot on. This is probably why I come back each year.
2015 Pistons & Paint Pt. 3
As I hit the 2015 Pistons & Paint the weather was about like the year before, kinda cold, cloudy and threatening rain. To the south of Dallas the rain was coming down hard, I’m sure keeping some folks away. The show is usually pretty full pretty quickly, this year and last the cars trickled in throughout the morning into the early afternoon. Some of the best hot rods and kustoms of the region were joined by stockers, cruisers and even some rats.
2015 Pistons & Paint Pt. 2
For the 2015 Pistons & Paint Car Show I headed out late Friday. Hearing reports from others that I-35 was slammed with NASCAR race weekend traffic I was a bit worried. 5 hours later I checked into my hotel room in southern OK, having never hit traffic, leaving at 7pm worked. A few hours of sleep and another hour of driving got me to the North Texas Fairgrounds in Denton.
2015 Pistons & Paint Pt. 1
November 6, 2015 the 2015 Pistons & Paint car show took over the North Texas Fairgrounds in Denton, TX. For years I’ve been attending the show but I’ve never taken my own ride until this year. For the 2nd year in a row the day started out wet but ended up awesome!
2015 SEMA Coverage by John Wells Part 2
Since I couldn’t make it out to SEMA again this year, I called on my buddy John Wells to take some photos and send them this way so we could all see them. Check out the sizzle reel for the new TV project that John and Max Grundy are working on together and enjoy the photos!
