What Do You People Want From Me?

Back in 2013 my buddy Dan from Dan’s Hot Rod Photos was kind enough to share some shots from the Detroit Autorama with all of us here. Not that I didn’t already want to go to Detroit, but man seeing it through Dan’s lens really made me make up my mind to go sometime. So next month, I’m going! A new show for me, hopefully a bunch of new rides for you to check out here.

Which has me thinking, just what do you people want from me?

This post brought to you by Motornation! Unlimited streaming of hot rod, kustom, chopper and bobber bikes and more all for just $5.99 a month!

Join Motornation.tv to stream videos from Mad Fabricators, Atomic Hot Rods, Vintage Torque, Royboy Productions and tons more! Only $5.99 a month to stream unlimited hot rod, kustom car and motorcycle videos!

Okay, so the headline might have been a bit purposely inflammatory. What can I say, I wanted to get your attention.

My self set goal for Royboy Productions, Chrome Pipes & Pinstripes and all that I do here has been twofold; to promote kool people doing kool stuff with cars here in the midwest and to hopefully encourage more people to join us!

So what do YOU want from Royboy Productions? This year I’m heading to new events to give you something different to look at. Nothing against the shows that I go to but if I just go to the exact same shows each year and show you photos of the same cars, well it will get quite boring for everyone involved.

Some options

  • I can start to shoot car features of the cars that I am doing video features on for Motornation. Basically they’d be like the features I’ve posted here in the past.
  • Tech or how to articles. They are time consuming to shoot but possible.
  • Shop Visits. As I get the time on my road trips I can stop in to shops that are along the way and do some shop visits.
  • More people coverage. I tend to stay away from shooting photos of people at the events. Short version is I technically need to host their photos in a separate gallery from the cars so that the car photos can be sold as prints and the people ones cannot.
  • Separate posts for separate kinds of cars. A lot of shows I attend have various styles of cars on display. One of the ideas that I’ve been kicking around lately is to separate them out when there are enough shots to do it. Something like Hot Rods one day, Kustoms the next, Street Rods another and then the rest of the cars in one post. There aren’t many shows where this is possible and I really don’t want to dilute the traditional hot rod and kustom theme that much but I’m open to suggestions.

In the comment section below, let your voice be heard. Hell, maybe you like things the way that they are, fine let me know that! Maybe you have some other idea that I haven’t thought of, let me know!

See you at a show,

Royboy
