The show has gotten flack from some for moving from the drive in to the Platte County Fairgrounds. My take on it is the show has been very successful at the new venue and I like it…
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 || Part 5
Do I miss the drive in? In some ways yes, but thats about 10% of it for me, the other 90% I dig the fairgrounds. There is more room, the car count seems to have gone up, the Sweet Sixteen building is well, sweet. Anyone that comes to this site knows that I’m not a fan of the “rat rod” movement or more accurately what it’s become, most generally a race to be the professional wrestling of the hot rod world. The show has been labeled by some to be a rat rod show, it’s not, the idea as I’ve understood it was just to always celebrate the the home built rides, and many of them tend to be ratty. Some of the ratty crowd incorrectly think that the show is a “no shiny paint” show, again it’s not. I’m tired of seeing people wrong on both sides of that.
