This week Royboy serves up a double dose of interviews. First Ken McClure of the Torques C.C. comes on the show to talk about the Texas Thaw vintage drag races & car show. Then Bret Chrismer comes on to talk about the Southwest Missouri Hot Rod Hundred.
A few months ago I was contacted by the promoter of the Hot Rod Holiday in Springfield, MO. He enticed me to come down and hang out for the weekend in Springfield for the show. I don’t like vending at shows most of the time because I don’t get to hang out and shoot the event because I’m sitting in my booth the whole time, but indoor shows offer me the ability to shoot the cars when nobody’s in the building and then spend the weekend in the booth. Since I have calendars to sell so that I can raise money for a great cause, this sounds like a great idea!
Well folks I screwed up! This was supposed to go out this morning at 9am and here it is almost 9pm and I’m just putting it up!
The Kowtown Greaserama is a month away and you need to be there! Again it will be at the very kool Platte County Fairgounds in Tracy, MO just northwest of Kansas City, click here for the location page of their website. The weekend is as always Labor Day weekend. The party starts off Friday night with a pre-party at the Record Bar in KC and then moves to the Fairgrounds on Saturday at noon. Then again Sunday at noon.
At first I wasn’t sure if Ryno had some secrets he wasn’t telling but no this is just the lace used to get all of the kool lacework in the paint job of the truck…
With the frame nearing completion, the Stude body has been placed so the floor supports can be build and some other items fabbed.
Looks to be the beginnings of a healthy ride.
Floor supports in place.
A 4 door Stude is not your normal idea of a hot rod, but this is not your normal hot rod shop.
Next time I’ll get a bunch more photos of the wagon that is being built for Mrs. Ryno. For now for info on the 60 Chevrolet Kingswood Wagon that Ryno is building for his wife, click here.
