2015 Lonestar Roundup Pt. 2 Brought To You By Owens Salvage Co.

Today for part 2 we continue with Friday’s coverage. The image above is of the new Model A by Ricky Bobby’s Rod Shop. The Lonestar Roundup is one of those shows where I know far too many people to get through it efficiently. Most of my day was spent talking with friends and not shooting enough photos, somehow I still ended up back at the hotel with over 1000 images of the day. About half were shot during the mini bike races, most of those were deleted because they weren’t anything special. Stay tuned for the ones that made the cut!

The 2015 Lonestar Roundup coverage is brought to by my friends at Owens Salvage in Wellington, TX. Bob has 65 acres with tons of cars that have the parts you need for your next project. Find them on Facebook here or on their website here

The afternoon was not without incident however. Mercury Charlie had a horrible accident leaving the show in the rain. He is in the hospital now and will be on the mend for awhile but things are looking good for a recovery. The car he was in did not fair so well. In the end, oh well, cars can be recreated, there’s only one of each of us. Please keep Charlie and his friends & family in your thoughts and prayers. If you can spare a few dollars to help him out please consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign set up to help him cover expenses in this trying situation. Get well soon Charlie!

Ricky Bobby Rod Shop brought two KILLER hot rods. The Sedan above which was done in 40 days and the incredible pickup below that I saw at Detroit.  Yes, this is a repost from yesterday, I realized after this went live that 2 or 3 of the shots were in yesterday’s coverage. That’s what happens when you’re burning the candle at both ends, sorry folks.

Jason Ketch’s “Poison Ivy” on Friday. Unfortunately the passenger rear tire blew on the way home, the car hit a guard rail and sustained some front end damage. Jason’s wife Tammy was taken to the hospital for a bad cut, after a surgery to clean it out she’s doing better and will make a full recovery. Get well soon Tammy!

Tim Sutton’s van!

Bob Owens not only is our sponsor this week, but he had his booth set up selling all kinds of kool stuff.

This is the car that Mercury Charlie was driving on Friday when he had his horrific accident.

Again, if you have a few bucks to spare, please consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign set up to help Mercury Charlie out.

Atlas had this killer  Merc mild kustom in their booth, along with the hot rod below pictured with a couple of the Atlas hotties.

Okay I can’t wait, here’s some of the mini bike action!

I think this was the fastest guy of the weekend, I think he won 8 races in total.

Who doesn’t like a wheelie?

Speed!

Rubbin’s racin’.

The dirt made for soft landings.

Landing with the bike on top of you and another person and their bike on top of it isn’t so soft.
