Still on Friday’s coverage! After watching the Mini Bike races and taking FAR too many shots I finished up the west parking lot of the event. Later Friday evening after the rain that started just as I left the facility I went over to Top Notch (yeah the drive in burger joint from Dazed & Confused) and watched my buddies Pushrod perform. This was the first performance of the band that I was able to see after the tragic loss of my friend DaddyO last year. The band sounded great, we had some emotional moments as a group thinking about DaddyO, but it was amazing seeing my friends again.
The weekend was not without incident. Mercury Charlie had a horrible accident leaving the show in the rain. He is in the hospital now and will be on the mend for awhile but things are looking good for a recovery. The car he was in did not fair so well. In the end, oh well, cars can be recreated, there’s only one of each of us. Please keep Charlie and his friends & family in your thoughts and prayers.
