Due to COVID-19 restrictions the 57th Annual Darryl Starbird National Rod and Custom Car Show was held over the weekend of April 30-May 2. The location was the same but it was nice to be able to go to the show and not have it be snowing that weekend!  See more photos below.

Since everything is all messed up schedule wise and because my best friend moved from Tulsa back to Wichita and I no longer had a free place to crash we decided to make this a day trip. We rolled out of Wichita early on Saturday morning and cruised on down to the Expo Center to see the show and more importantly see some friends.

As soon as we walked in the door we saw a car that had some parts on it that I sold the owner at my day job at Affordable Street Rods, pretty cool to see the great ride built by Chris Carlson Hot Rods competing in the Fine Nine.

There were a ton of great cars on display as always upstairs. Some notables for me include this sweet ride owned by Dan Shea with a ton of great work by Riggs Fabrication & Restoration (Jay Riggs will be a guest on a podcast in a couple of days).

We had a blast hanging out with the Okie Sleds, some of the Stray Kat Kustoms crew and of course brand new Hall of Famer Chris Ryan! Lots of great friends from across the country made the day and the 6 hour round trip drive well worth it!

This modern custom won the $10k Go For The Gold Award! Click this photo to see the full photo gallery!
