One of the visions that I’ve had for Royboy Productions is to have it be bigger than just me. To that end I’m hoping to get more people from across the country to share their photos of car shows and events with me so that I can share them with you.

7th Annual Pendine Sands Hot Rod Races
The Vintage Hot Rod Association held their 7th annual Hot Rod Races on the famous Pendine Sands over the weekend of the 15th/16th June 2019.
The weather in the UK so far this June has been damp to say the least earning the nickname of “Monsoon June”, so fingers were being crossed all round weather wise.
Most of those visiting the event stayed local to the sands and this gave the Pendine Sands Holiday Park a real 1950’s flavour with a lot of American iron on display outside the caravans.

This weekend I wanted to spend some time with my Dad and nephews, so I gathered them up and went to a small show. I took my camera but I spent more time being an uncle instead of shooting photos. Lucky for me and all of you I had my friend Iona Bel Air take her camera to the 2017 Slamboree at the Grand Casino Resort in Shawnee, OK and she snapped a few shots for us all to check the show out. ’17 Meltdown Drags
When I learned that my buddy Travis was not going to be able to attend the 8th annual Meltdown Drags I was more than happy to step up and share some of my photos and thoughts with those of you who regularly check his stuff out. Hope it’s up to snuff!
Once again, the Meltdown Drags exceeded expectations and delivered and incredible experience for all in attendance. Paul Zielsdorf, Eric Koopmeiners and friends managed to draw the best in vintage drag racing to Byron, Illinois to spend a few days racing like they did in the old days. Race cars from 40+ states came to race for the fun of it and spectators from across the country and across the pond came to soak it all in. Eliminate the modern tow vehicles and gadgetry and one would be hard pressed to tell what year it was. As if the racing wasn’t enough, there is also a show area and a nice sized swap to browse.
Make plans now to attend the ’18 Meltdown Drags and enjoy some racing as it was during its golden age.

One of those bucket list shows that so many of us will never get to attend is the Mooneyes Japan show in Yokohama. My buddy John Wells of the Retro Rewind, Vintage Torque Fest and Iron Invasion has been going for years and this year was kind enough to send some photos over to me to share with all of you. I was excited when I heard that the Kontinentals were going to take the awesome recipe that makes up the Lonestar Roundup and drop it in Cajun country. Lafayette, LA played host to the first ever Bayou Roundup over the weekend of Oct. 16 and 17th. Great cars, great music and great food, what’s not to love? I was bummed when I found out that the event was the same weekend as the BluesMasters At The Crossroads in Salina. I can’t be in two places at once. Lucky for me (and you) my buddy, 9 year old Ryder Burford went to the event and took his camera! His photos are below 🙂

Held on the beach next to Wildwood, NJ this traditional hot rod event was postponed due to a hurricane and many were wondering how the turnout would be a week later. I think you’ll see from Jason Mayginnes’ photos that the turn out was great!
